For a foreign visitor, the question is whether a language session on 4 or 11 October fits the itinerary. VisitKorea lists foreigner-only sessions on 20 and 27 September and 4 and 11 October 2026, with English, Japanese and Chinese options booked first-come through Creatrip. Those dates do not establish today's seat inventory.
A palace evening with a fixed clock
The National Heritage Promotion Agency's programme page gives the wider Thursday-to-Sunday run as 10 September–17 October. It describes an approximately 100-minute walk and cultural programme, a 30,000 KRW ticket, 28 people per session and 168 per day. Starts fall between 19:10 and 20:10. Limited capacity does not prove any date has sold out.
The official Seoul visitor guide places the event at 99 Yulgok-ro, near Anguk Station on Line 3. Leave room for the walk to the entrance and a late finish.
Two reservation paths, one common mistake
The foreigner-only dates and first-come Creatrip route should not be confused with the domestic Ticketlink lottery. The Agency's domestic booking notice describes a winner-priority window, later residual-seat booking, a two-ticket-per-ID limit and non-transfer rules. It also warns that special events and foreigner schedules can alter operating dates. A domestic lottery result therefore says nothing about availability in a foreign-language session, or vice versa.
The Seoul guide gives an age threshold of seven and says school-age children need a guardian. Families should check the operator's current eligibility wording before payment. The official programme and tourism pages establish the event's general conditions; the stored research does not verify remaining October seats, the current platform checkout terms or identity-document requirements.
Book the date, then keep the evening flexible
The sensible order is to choose a suitable foreigner date and language, inspect the live reservation terms, then arrange the rest of the evening. The agency notice flags weather-related postponement and cancellation restrictions; check the exact policy attached to the chosen ticket, rather than assuming that rain automatically means a refund. If a date or language is unavailable, the palace can remain a separate heritage stop without treating this particular night programme as essential.
The appeal is a guided Seoul evening. The trade-off is a narrow calendar and less flexibility if weather changes. That is editorial judgment, not a claim about visitor satisfaction or live sales.
